Camp AREV is an ideal environment for enjoying the beauty of God's creation and getting closer to God Himself. Nestled in a mountainside at 5,000 ft. near Tejon Pass and adjacent to Los Padres National Forest, the 45 acres of Camp AREV are adorned by tall pine trees and beautiful landscapes, as well as great recreational and meeting / worship facilities. Our facility is just a few minutes off Interstate 5 at Frazier Park, conveniently close to both Los Angeles and Bakersfield.

Ready for your year-round recreation and retreat needs, Camp AREV's pleasant summers and picturesque snowy winters make it the perfect escape from the city. The property offers open space for quiet reflection as well as several recreational activities. We have a beautiful chapel with panoramic views, and a new large dining hall with wide doors that can open during the summer for an indoor / outdoor dining experience. Our experienced catering staff prepares delicious meals and can work with retreat organizers on custom menus.

Our mission is to provide a vital spiritual retreat center where groups can grow in Christian knowledge, faith and fellowship. Our desire is to provide quality facilities and a peaceful setting that will contribute to the success of our guests' retreats. We offer great flexibility in meeting your particular needs.

More Details

A typical weekend retreat includes 2 nights lodging in our Lodge and/or Lower Cabins, 5 fantastic meals, multiple recreation options, and meeting space where you can run your own program. We offer 3, 4, and 5+ night packages as well - see our Rates page for details.

Preparing for your retreat, and creating a schedule for your entire stay at Camp AREV, will equip you to impart blessings to your group, and will be a great help to us! We will ask you to provide a Leadership Information Form that tells our Facility Manager who will be arriving first and departing last, who is responsible for what, when the bulk of your group will be arriving and departing, and when they will be using our recreation activities or meeting space. Prayerfully scheduling your entire program creates focus for your leadership and for us as your hosts.

New to Retreat Planning?

Our Camp Director has organized and led many retreats and will be happy to answer questions about approach, structure, purpose, and how to accomplish your goals! Email us and we will put you in touch!

Lodging Options

Take some time to assign lodging and inform your group of the arrangements - they need to bring bedding (sleeping bags and pillows, or sheets/blankets/pillows) and towels. Camp AREV has dorm-style lodging in two areas. In our Lodge, sleeping areas on each side are separated by a common meeting area. Each Lodge room has a sink / mirror and area for toiletries, and 6 new bunk beds/mattresses, and 2 rooms share one bathroom. There are 4 rooms on each side of the Lodge, which accommodates 48 people total.

Our 2 Lower Cabins also offer dorm-style lodging. Each Cabin has 4 rooms, with space for luggage and 10 bunk beds. Each Cabin also has two large bathrooms with multiple sinks, stalls, showers. The Lower Cabins accommodate 80 people total.

Creating Your Schedule

When you have the retreat date, and lodging and meeting space at Camp AREV, you can create a schedule. Camp AREV is conveniently located off I-5 and you can drive right up to the parking area where most groups arrive and check in with access to the Lodge, Chapel and Dining Hall. Groups typically arrive shortly before or around dinner time Friday, get themselves situated, and gather for dinner. Please allow 5 minutes in your dinner announcements to have our Facility Manager greet your group and tell all of you a little about our camp.

Meals are delicious and generous and are typically scheduled as follows: Breakfast at 8:00 am, Lunch at 12:00 noon, and Dinner at 6:00 pm. There is a drink station where water, coffee and tea is available.

Recreation: Camp AREV offers several free recreation options: a new basketball court, soccer and softball fields, tournament-quality ping-pong, Frisbee Golf, and nearby access to local hiking trails. For extra fees to cover staffing, we also offer Zip Line, Archery, a Challenge Course, and will soon have Paintball available as well. These staffed recreation activities are typically scheduled on Saturday afternoons between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm for weekend groups. Please inquire about mid-week availability during summer months or at other times of the year.

Meetings and Worship Times: Smaller guest groups meet in our Lodge (capacity ~50), larger groups use our Chapel (capacity ~200). We have screens available for projection; guest groups should plan on bringing their own projectors, laptops, musical instruments and sound systems. Camp AREV does not have wi-fi! Have your group take a break from their devices and fully participate in your retreat program!

Victory Circle: Your group can schedule an evening meeting at our outdoor gathering space. Please plan ahead with our Facility Manager, who is the only person that can create a camp fire and extinguish it at Camp AREV.

Let Us Know! And Tell Others About Us!

We ask every guest group to let us know if there is anything we can do to assist with their retreat, and to tell us the results of their retreat and how their group enjoyed the stay. We have several repeat renters, and we appreciate referrals.
